Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Reach Separations Turns 5!

February the 13th saw Reach Separations celebrate five years of laboratory occupation at Biocity Nottingham. Of course, the occasion called for cake and the whole team got together to chat about the last five years, as you can see from the pictures, there are a few more of us now than on birthday one.

1st and 5th birthday photos

Five years signifies a great start and our now established reputation for both speed and quality has meant that we have seen significant growth over the last 12 months, particularly across Europe. ( As we enter our sixth year we have no intention of slowing down and we're attending conferences in new areas of Europe this summer.

As always, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to drop us a line

Best regards, Victoria Coulthard, Early Business Development Manager.

Expanding team!

From an initial team of four we are now at ten people, with two members of laboratory staff joining us since Christmas. Nathan, our new full time laboratory technician and Sam as another Separation Scientist. We are still recruiting for Separation Scientist 4 and 5 to join us this summer to help with the increased demand and to run the sixth preparative SFC that will be arriving in quarter two.

To match the increase in staff we have seen an increase in instrumentation, a second Waters UPC2 for both chiral and achiral screening and as mentioned another Sepiatec 100 is on the way. It is vitally important to us that we continue to maintain our rapid turnaround even as our client base grows.

Meet Nathan and Sam

Nathan Stone

Nathan joined Reach as a laboratory technician but away from the lab, he can be found on the dance floors of Nottingham as he is also a Cuban Salsa teacher. Other hobbies include mountain biking and, when he actually does put his feet up, all things video games.

Sam Gilson

Sam joins Reach as a Separation Scientist after graduating from the University of Nottingham last summer with a Masters of chemistry. Sam is a keen traveller so relished the opportunity to spend a year in Canada as part of his degree. When back on UK soil he's a passionate Tottenham Hotspur fan!
